Maternal-Infant Program
Maternal-Infant visits are designed to provide specialized follow-up
for mothers and infants with identified risks and complications
following delivery. The nurse provides assessment
of the mother and the newborn, patient education, healing, support for breast and/or bottle feeding, newborn care and psychosocial adaptation to parenthood. The program addresses complications caused by:
early maternity discharge
high-risk pregnancy
hyperbilirubinemia
premature infant
medically fragile infant
multiple births
Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome
teen parenting
post-partum depression
post-partum complications
cesarean wound care
