TomTom Recognizes PHC's WBZ "Hometown Hero"
(Above, left to right): Carl Stevens, reporter for WBZ 1030am radio, interviewed Jocelyn Vigreux, President of TomTom, Inc. when he presented PHC's Mary Danforth, RN, with a navigational system for her heroic efforts in ensuring PHC's patients were safe and taken care of during challenging weather conditions this past May. This past Memorial Day, when Jocelyn Vigreux, President of TomTom, Inc., was listening to WBZ 1030am radio, he heard PHC's Mary Danforth being recognized by WBZ as a "hometown hero" for her efforts to make sure that patients were taken care of during the devastating floods that hit the North Shore area of Massachusetts in May. TomTom is the worldwide leading provider of personal navigation products and services. When Jocelyn heard Mary talk about the road closures caused by the floods and her use of road maps to find alternative routes to see her patients, he thought he could help make that part of her job easier by giving her a TomTom Go navigational system. Jocelyn presented Mary with his gift at a special ceremony that was recently held in PHC's Waltham office. "This is what we are about, developing technology to make lives easier," said Jocelyn. "This is a small token of appreciation for the public service that you provide to your patients." In accepting the gift, Mary stated that she was honored and represented the efforts of all PHC staff who make sure our patients are taken care of each day. Carl Stevens from WBZ also attended the ceremony for a followup story that was aired on July 3 on WBZ1030am.
