Great Chefs "Serve Up" Support for Partners Home Care
Marcia Reissig, President of Partners Home Care, and Eileen Curran, News Anchor from CBS4 News, plunged their marshmallows into the "Chocolate Dive" at the Great Chefs Gala.

Veronica's Sweetcakes owner, Veronica Ryan (front), was surprised when Jackie Raffi from Long's Jewelers (back) and Eileen Curran announced she had won the special "diamond heart" pendant necklace.

Over 275 guests enjoyed an evening of fine wine and cuisine at Partners Home Care's 17th Annual Great Chefs "Have a Heart" Gala held at the Sheraton Braintree Hotel on February 8, 2005. Eileen Curran, news anchor at CBS4 News hosted the event that raised nearly $60,000 for the cardiac programs and services of Partners Home Care. "Each year, Partners Home Care serves nearly ten thousand people who are coping with heart disease, the number one cause of death for men and women in this country," said Marcia Reissig, President of Partners Home Care. "We are grateful to our chefs, sponsors and guests for giving our cardiac patients a special Valentine presentthe chance to receive care in the comfort of their home, surrounded by their family and loved ones." The evening featured music by the Bourbon Street Jazz Society, a special raffle for a "diamond heart pendant," courtesy of Long's Jewelers, and some spirited bidding on the live and silent auctions. Another heartfelt moment of the evening came when PHC's Kris Shorey, RN, helped Eileen Curran and the evening's auctioneer, Tom Hoffman, raise $3,650 to purchase coagulation monitors. These portable devices enable PHC nurses to provide on-site testing of blood levels for people who are taking prescription blood thinners.
