TLC Nursing Announces Acquisition of Golden Care

In response to the growing demand for home care services, TLC Nursing, the private home care subsidiary of Partners Home Care, has announced the signing of an agreement to acquire the business of Golden Care, a Boston-based private duty home care company. The parties anticipate finalizing the agreement on or about June 6th.

The hourly and live-in home health aide services provided by Golden Care will complement the services offered by TLC Nursing, which provides home health aides, personal care homemakers, companions, nurses and physical therapists. It will also bring TLC's services into the Boston market. Golden Care clients will benefit from having access to a broader range of medical and non-medical home health care services. The combined organization will have offices in Framingham, Beverly, Boston, Rockland, and Plymouth.

"As people age or recover from illness or injury, they often feel most comfortable when they can do so in the familiar surroundings of home," said Marcia Reissig, president of Partners Home Care. As more elders choose to receive care at home, there can be an additional burden placed on the family caregivers who must juggle the needs of their parents with maintaining jobs and raising children. Whether it is providing transportation, housework, or assistance with dressing and bathing, TLC Nursing and Golden Care offer their clients the opportunity to live safely and independently in their homes while alleviating the strain their care can place on their family members.

Partners Home Care is a non-profit home care organization that is dedicated to providing high quality certified, specialty, and private home health care services throughout Eastern Massachusetts. With annual revenue of $48 million, the organization provides home care services to approximately 24,000 patients in more than 140 communities. Partners Home Care is a member of Partners HealthCare, an integrated health care system founded by Brigham and Women's Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital.

Established in 1976, TLC Nursing provides a wide array of privately paid home care services that help people live safely and independently in their homes. The staff includes companions, homemakers, personal care homemakers, certified home health aides, certified nursing assistants, nurses and physical therapists. With annual revenue of $7.6 million, the organization serves approximately 2,000 clients. TLC Nursing is the private home care subsidiary of Partners Home Care.

Established in Boston in 1978, Golden Care offers hourly and live-in personal care and homemaking services that allow the elderly, chronically ill, and disabled to remain at home. With annual revenue of $2.3 million, the organization provides services to several hundred Greater Boston residents.
